It was a Monday to remember as Spanish based football scouts paid a courtesy visit to the Secretariat of Abia Comets.

Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL) club, Chief Boniface Uche Alozie praised their choice of Umuahia as Scouting reservoir.

"I really appreciate this August visit to the Secretariat of Abia Comets. It shows that football is at another level in this great state," Chief Alozie began.

"The agenda of His Excellency Governor (Dr) Alex Otti is to see youths empowered through sports. Football is one of components of Sports and we are happy that Dr Otti invests a lot in Football."

"We at Abia Comets are happy to welcome you all to Umuahia. Be rest assured that we would create enabling environment for you to fish out budding talents here," he added.

The Spanish-based football scouts, who were led by former Abia Comets player, Kenneth Ogbuehi, thanked the Chairman for welcoming them. 

He emphasized the importance of coming to Nigeria to search for young players, that will be taken to Spain and Portugal for greener pastures.
