Six clubs from Anambra State that will take part in the two categories of the 2024 Nationwide League will have the rare opportunity of ascertaining their levels of preparation and readiness for the tournament in a pre season tournament billed for Rojenny Tourist/Games Village, Oba, near Onitsha, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The tournament, a brainchild of the Anambra State Football Association, under the leadership of 'Gen.' Chikelue Iloenyosi, a former Nigeria international and ex U23 Olypic Eagles defender, is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, 4 April, 2024.

Checks reveal that of the six clubs, three will compete in the NLO category while the other three will slug it out in the NLO2 Category when the season gets underway in the coming weeks.

"We're desirous of preparing teams from the state and adequately equipping them in the best possible form for national competitions", an FA official told Exclusivenews.com.ng as reasons for the maiden Anambra NLO teams pre season tournament.

"Having as much as six teams in the third and fourth tier of Nigeria league is a monumental boost to the game of football in the state. It underlines our grassroot policy which also is in tandem with the policy trust of the Prof Chukwuma Soludo Government of Anambra Staye.

"We've gotten the numbers. Now we are preparing them for quality so that at the National level, their number will count for the state", the official explained.

The club's featuring in the NLO include A&A, St Nwadinso Football Academy and Hopeland Football Academy.

Those in the NLO2 category are Ozalla Football Academy who are 2023 Neros/Anambra FA Cup champions, Peace FC and 
Rangels FA, Acting, Aguata LGA.
