Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has dismissed rumors linking him romantically with former BBNaija star, Nengi Rebecca Hampson, and denied allegations that they recently welcomed a child together.

 

Speculation about a relationship between the governor—who is already married to two wives—and Nengi gained traction after controversial blogger Gistlover claimed the reality star had given birth to his child.

 

Reacting to the viral rumors, the governor’s spokesperson, Dr. Kola Oredipe, labeled the reports as “baseless fabrications,” insisting that Nengi has no personal relationship with Governor Diri.

 

“Regrettably, purveyors of fake news are not happy with the governor’s rising political profile,” Oredipe stated.

 

He also criticized the spread of misinformation on social media, calling it a distraction. “While we were inaugurating a brand-new road in Yenagoa, social media e-rats were busy spreading falsehoods about the governor,” he added.

 

The governor’s team has urged the public to disregard the reports, dismissing them as purely speculative and without merit.
