Nigeria’s rising star, Salim Fago Lawal, continues to shine in Europe after being named in the Team of the Week in Croatia.

 

Lawal was instrumental in NK Istra’s 2-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb during the Matchday 13 fixture. The former Flying Eagles striker scored two stunning goals, showcasing his clinical finishing and all-around attacking prowess, further cementing his reputation as a world-class forward.

 

This season, Lawal has already contributed five goals and two assists, totaling seven goal involvements — a clear testament to his impact for NK Istra. The club’s investment in the 2023 summer transfer window, when they signed him from Mavlon FC of Lagos following his impressive display at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, is already paying off handsomely.
