Rising Sun Football League: Uchecaria's FC Through To The Quarter Finals
Highly rated non-league side Uchecaria International Football Club of Aba, on Monday began their quest for conquest in the ongoing Rising Sun Football League in Aba.
In a first round fixture played at the Umuojima Mini-stadium in Osisioma Aba against another Aba based outfit FC
Classic, saw Uchecaria FC triumph by a 4-2 scoreline.
The game started with the Uchecaria side dominating play as expected and it was no surprise when they took the lead through a powerful shot from Favour Ezindu which drove past FC Classic's hapless goalie to make it 1-0.
After taking the lead, Uchecaria totally dominated play and came close to increasing the tally on two separate occasions through the skipper Prosper Igwe and Favour Ezindu.
But against the run of play, a clumsy challenge on Classic's Chigemezu by Ezindu resulted to a penalty which was calmly converted to restore parity.
As the first half was coming to a close a run by Ezindu Favour was illegally cut short as he was brought down in the box, resulting to a penalty.
Uchecaria FC's Justice was not able to convert directly as the goalie saved the kick but Justice made no mistake with the rebound to restore Uchecaria's lead.
In the second half, skipper Prosper Igwe of Uchecaria increased the tally with a powerful 25 yard shot which made it's way to the roof of the net to make it 3-1.
Deep into the second half, FC Classic's were awarded a highly controversial penalty which they converted to reduce the tally.
With the tie gradually coming to a climax, Uchecaria FC controlled the flow of the game and were dully rewarded almost at the stroke of regulation time when Bernard Nnaemeka's mesmerizing run down the left flank followed by a powerful shot sailed past the FC Classic's goalie to restore Uchecaria's two goal lead.
The fixture ended 4-2 as Uchecaria booked their place in the quarter finals of the competition.
