Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, is a Nigerian music sensation who has taken the world by storm. Born in Lagos, Tems spent her early years in the UK with her parents before moving back to Nigeria. She started her music career as a teenager, practicing with her music teacher Mr. Sosan at Dowen College in Lagos.

Tems' rise to fame began in 2020 with her collaboration with Wizkid on the hit song "Essence." She has since become a global superstar, winning numerous international and local awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2023 for her song "Wait For You" featuring Drake.

In 2025, Tems made history with eight Grammy nominations, including wins for Best African Music Performance for "Love Me JeJe" and nominations for Best R&B Song for "Burning" and Best Global Music Album for "Born in the Wild". At just 29 years old, Tems is proving herself to be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
