Abia House of Assembly  on Tuesday the 17th of October during plenary on received and entertained four public petitions.

 First was a petition from one Dr Ugochukwu over the forceful encroachment into his acquired land at ozuitem in Bende local Government area.The petition was however committed to the house committee on Land by the speaker, Rt Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa for review and the committee was asked to report back to the house in less than 14 days with their findings.

 

The other 3 petitions which bordered on the ministry of health and the commissioner of the ministry Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, were equally referred to the house committee on health.

 

HAM 14, motion on the need to revive and reopen the  moribond
 Abia State liason office at no 2 Rangers avenue, independence layout Enugu, the bill which was sponsored by Hon Boniface Isienyi of ikwuano was also entertained. 

The House after supportive contributions of members from the floor of the house resolved to invite the commissioner for Housing on Executive session to ascertain the true position and ownership status of the liason noting that the importance of such offices to the state could not be over emphasized.

 

HAM 15, motion on the need to rehabilitate and reconstruct roads in Umunneochi sponsored by Hon Mathias Umeh received attention as the speaker directed in consideration of contributions of members on the motion that palliative works be commenced at the area hinging the resolution on the grounds of the economic potential of the local Government.

 HAB 5 was stood down following a motion sponsored by the majority leader Uchenna Okoro and seconded by Aba central representative Hon Stephen Ucheonye, HAM16, HAM17 and HAM 18 were also referred to related committees for study.

 In the absence of other motions during the proceedings, house adjourned sitting to reconvene on Wednesdays 18th of October
