Sultan of Sokoto, Sa'ad Mohammad Abubakar II, has reminded Nigerian leaders that God will judge everyone of them, while admonishing the citizens to trust God to handle leaders, rather than criticizing them.

He told the leaders that they' will be accountable to God on Judgment Day. The Sultan also cautioned religious leaders against misleading followers for personal gain.

At a conference on climate change-induced conflicts in Northern Nigeria, he emphasized prayer and unity, saying, "Focus on worshiping God, and leave the rest to Him. Let's intensify prayers for our leaders and country's prosperity." He acknowledged challenges like poverty and insecurity but expressed optimism, stating, "Relief will come."
