Nigeria's glamour team, Rangers International, have received plaudits following their incredible run in the 2023/2024 NPFL season during which the Coal City Flying Antelopes won in emphatic fashion, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The Coal City Flying Antelopes triumphed 2-1 away from home against Gombe United in the final fixture of the season to make a clean haul of the top prize, thus, plucking their 8th NPFL title in history, just eight years after lifting the trophy in 2016.

Elated by the near perfect performance of the Fidelis Ilechukwu side in the season, Onitsha Branch of the Rangers Supporters Club, have now heaped praises on the club for a job 'well done'.

"We're proud of the performance of the players. We're pleased with the coaches led by 'The Working One' Fidelis Ilechukwu. We're happy with the Management under the 'youngest GM in Nigeria League', Barrister Amobi Ezeaku. And We're equally delighted with the Enugu State Government under His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, for the sound financial backing of the club during the season", starts Nze Jude Belonwu, spokesman of the Onitsha  Supporters Club Chapter.

"We're proud of the players dedication, hard work and unwavering display of the 'Never-Say-Die' spirit for which the club is known.

"The 'dynamic and humane leadership disposition of the Barrister Amobi Ezeaki led management cannot be overlooked. This is the product of the age-long maxim 'round peg in a round hole' and we believe this is a new beginning for the better days ahead".

Rangers beat Rwmo Stars to the title race but will traverse the African continent with the Ikenne side in the hunt for a first ever CAF Champions League title.

Enyimba, two time African Champions League winners and nine-time NPFL title winners, finished in third position and will campaign in the second tier CAF interclub competition, CAF Confederation Cup, their 5th time out in the competition.

Nze Bello remains upbeat that its time to begin preparation for the continental shuttle which gets underway in a matter of months.

"Early beginning, they often say, makes a campaign a bit easier. But good preparation makes a race a lot more realistically successful", the spokesman said in a chart with Exclusivenews.com.ng Tuesday, after the 'Michael Okpara Square Carnival' on Monday that heralded the team's 'Triumphal Return' to Enugu, after plucking the trophy in Jos on Sunday, 23 June, 2024.

"So, continuity is very important, in both the technical and management departments.

"The coaches should put eyes in clean water to shop for players to bolster the team, especially in key areas of need.

"And good planning and more financial support by the Enugu State Government can see the club cross the continent's most prized interclub Rubicon in emphatic fashion", Nze Bello submitted.
