In line with best professional practices across the globe,hierarchy of Rangers International, on Wednesday, 30 August, 2023, subjected their players to a meticulous medical tests going into the new season, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Dr Wen Udoji took charge of the exercise at St Patrick's Hospital, Enugu, just 24 hours before the Fidelis Ilechukwu Flying Antelopes journeyed to neighbouring Awka for a 1-1 Preseason drawn clash versus rivals, Heartland.

Dr.Udorji would describe the tests, carried out to fulfill one of the requirements for club registration for the NPFL season as 'successful'.

“What we did this morning was the routine medical checks on the players", declares the medical expert.

"We had to go through a whole gamut of investigations, ranging from cardiovascular, to general body and other systems in the body, to ascertain the fitness of the players for the job ahead, talking of the 2023/2024 football season.

 “With what I have seen of the technical adviser on his selection of players for the team, I must say he has combined a lot of things to come up with the right mix for the task ahead.

"He put in a lot of interest and energy into assembling this team. He is doing this with a lot of zeal and willingness to succeed.

"With the kind of management in place now, and the resolve of the Governor of the state, I think Rangers will go places. 

"I am particularly impressed by the meticulous selection of the players, position for position, skill for skill, and, ofcourse, with special interest in the areas of need. 

"He has done a great job, I must say. And of course, this reflects in the condition of the players as the medical tests were all successful", Dr Udoji stated.

Rangers will welcome Doma United in the opening fixture of the 2023/24 NPFL on Saturday, September 9.
