Rangers, Heartland Set Enugu on Fire For ‘Oriental Derby’

Oriental rivals, Rangers International F.C of Enugu and eternal
rivals, Heartland F.C of Owerri will literally set the main bowl of
Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu on fire in a pre-season friendly
encounter scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

This shall be the second time both sides will be meeting since the end
of last season as the ‘Flying Antelopes’ ran away with a 4-2 win in
the first friendly match in Okigwe few weeks back.

After Friday’ 2-0 victory over Akwa United at the same venue, the
coach Benedict Ugwu tutored side will be looking to continue its fine
run since taking over at the seven time Nigeria league champions
winning thirteen and losing two of the matches played both friendly
and competitive.

The ‘Flying Antelopes’ gaffer, Ugwu would likely hand starts to
players that are yet to taste action since he came on board while
ensuring that all registered players will have an opportunity to
defend the colors of the club as the match progresses.

Coach Ugwu said concerning the ‘Oriental Derby’, “I expect a tough
match from Heartland but I believe we have what it takes to get a good
result. We shall give them the respect they deserve on match day
despite the fact that we beat them in Okigwe. This is another game
entirely and we shall approach it with a winning mentality to keep us
focused for the continental match at the end of the month.”

Heartland under coach Fidelis Ilechukwu will be coming to a familiar
arena where he always fight hard with good possession football but
lose by the odd goal.
