Unless there is a last minute change of fixtures, it is now evident that the final of the 2024 edition of the President Federation Cup will be played between an NPFL and NNL teams.

According to the fixtures, Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri and Kebbi United of Birinni Kebbi, both Nigerian National League Clubs will eliminate themselves in the Semi Finals, while two Nigeria Professional Football League Clubs , Abia Warriors of Umuahia and Kano Pillars will also eliminate themselves for a second finalist at a date to be decided by the NFF.

To qualify for the Semi finals, hard fighting Sunshine Stars of Akure were eliminated by fellow NPFL side Kano Pillars of Kano by 5-4 on penalties after a full time scores of 1-1. Rabiu Ali put the pyramid boys ahead in the early minutes of the game, before the team from the Owena State equalized before the half time. The match was played at Area 3 Football pitch, Abuja.

At the Bwari Township Stadium, Abuja, El-Kanemi Warriors defeated fellow NNL clubside  Inter Lagos by two goals to one.

In another NNL affairs at the Sani Abacha Stadium Kano, EFCC FC of Abuja, and Kebbi United of Birinni Kebbi ended goalless, with Kebbi United advancing on 4-3  penalties.

At the FIFA goal project field of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja, Abia Warriors eliminated  Sokoto United by five goals to four on penalties, after a full time scores one goal at piece.

Goalkeeper Ali Ishaku made the headline for the Umuahia Warriors when he saved one of the penalty kicks.

Prince Okorie had put the Warriors in front from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, after a Sokoto United player had blocked Sunday Megwo's goal-bound shot with his arm, and the centre referee did not hesitate to award a penalty kick to Abia Warriors.

Sokoto United levelled the scores in the 58th minute off a goal mouth scramble after the Warriors failed to clear their lines from a freekick.

Abia Warriors goalkeeper, Ali Ishaku made a save and his teammates, Prince Okorie, Collins Nwoburuoke, Adejoh Ojonugwa, Ayodele Ezekiel and Sunday Megwo all converted  their spot kicks to take the team to the last four for the first time in the club's history.
