President Federation Cup 2026: Thrilling Results Emerge from FCT Matches
The 2026 President Federation Cup fixtures in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have delivered a series of exciting encounters, with several teams advancing after impressive performances and dramatic penalty shootouts.
Sporting Dreams secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Mailantarki Care FC, showcasing solid attacking play and defensive discipline. In another standout fixture, Galadima FC defeated Asteras Tripoli 3-1 to book their place in the next round.
One of the most closely contested matches saw Stalwart FC held to a 1-1 draw by NYSC FC, before edging the tie 2-1 on penalties. Similarly, N-Youth SA and Kicker FC played out a thrilling 2-2 draw, with N-Youth SA eventually progressing after a tense 4-3 penalty shootout win.
NAF FC recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over Sir P. FC in a keenly fought contest, while Turf Arena FC also advanced after defeating Zeal O. FC 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Sporting Supreme U19 delivered a convincing 2-0 win against City FC, underlining the strength of youth development in the competition. Likeminds FC produced one of the most dominant displays of the round, thrashing Xrisco FC 4-0.
Another dramatic encounter saw Starting 11 FC and Strikers Hub settle for a 1-1 draw, with Starting 11 FC emerging victorious 4-2 in the penalty shootout. In one of the highest-scoring matches, Assess FC overcame RBM Sports 4-2 in an entertaining clash.
According to FCT FA Secretary Haruna Usman Ilerika, 33 teams are taking part in this year's edition of competition, and the finals will be played on Saturday 25 April 2026.
The results highlight the competitive nature of the FCT qualifiers, with a blend of experienced sides and emerging teams battling for progression. As the tournament advances, fans can expect even more intense matchups in Nigeria’s oldest domestic football competition.
