The presidency has urged Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, to move on after being left out of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

El-Rufai recently stated on Arise TV’s Prime Time that his exclusion was due to Tinubu changing his mind, not because of any rejection by the National Assembly. He emphasized that despite helping Tinubu’s election campaign, he holds no grudges and had set certain conditions for his nomination, which Tinubu ultimately did not fulfill.

Responding to El-Rufai’s comments, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, suggested that El-Rufai is simply hurt by his exclusion. Onanuga likened El-Rufai’s reaction to “crying over spilt milk” and advised him to move on, noting that his dissatisfaction does not reflect the broader reality of Tinubu’s government.
