High -flying sports academy, Power of De Cross, Lagos have engaged the services of a new coach, Karo Onokpite after parting ways with their former coaches, Hadi Haruna and Mathew Omenogor on mutual consent.
The 31 years old Delta state born tactician, who joined the club from second division side, Rail Stars FC of Ghana, where he coached last, has an impeccable record of churning out notable young players and a coaching style or philosophy similar to Pep Guardiola whom he adores his Tiki Taka brand of football and style.
According to him, he combines Barca, Bayern, Man City and Arsenal styles of football together to get the style that best suits his team.
“I’m a passionate lover and an apostle of Tiki Taka or Total Football as played by Pep Guardiola’s team, he said.
“This is why I combine Barca, Bayern, Man City and Arsenal styles to come up with my own unique style”.
An obviously elated top official of the academy has this to say about coach Karo:
“Power of De Cross has no doubt that with the pedigree and track record of coach Karo, the club can truly say we now have a coach that suits our vision and long term goal, echoed the Team Manager of the academy, Peter Ijeoma.
“He’s just a brilliant coach that goes about his job quietly without making noise but would rather allow his work to speak for him.
“I think we will do very well with coach Karo from the little I have seen of him and more glorious days are indeed ahead”, he said.
The self- styled coach Karo has led his previous teams to 18 victories in the last five years with 13 runner ups.
