The Ondo State Police Command don arrest one 62-year-old pastor, Sanmori Olubumi Joshua, and him 42-year-old wife, Sanmori Taiwo, say dem plan fake kidnap for Ondo City to collect ransom from people wey dey abroad.

 

Police yarn say di couple, wey dey live for Road 5, Power Line, gree together to do the fake kidnap wahala make dem fit collect money from dia relatives wey dey overseas.

 

For one statement wey the Police PRO, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, release on top the order of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, dem talk say the matter happen on August 23, 2025.

 

As di police explain, Mrs. Taiwo just go hide for one room, then her husband begin call family members say gunmen don carry her and dem dey ask for ₦10 million ransom.

 

But yawa gas when one of the relatives, Mr. Fasegha O. Joseph, report the case to the Commissioner of Police. Immediately, dem order investigation.

 

Na so Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad join body with Enu-owa Division begin trace the woman. Dem later find am for her house, and she claim say she don “regain freedom” after dem pay ₦5 million ransom—wey no even happen.

 

Later, Mrs. Taiwo gree say na lie, and say dem plan am to raise money to settle debt and other personal palava.

 

Police don confirm say the two of dem dey for custody and after dem finish investigation, dem go carry dem go court.
