Police Arrest 3 “One-Chance” Robbers for Killing Abuja Lawyer

FCT Police Command don arrest three notorious armed robbery suspects wey dey do “one-chance” operation, in connection with the brutal killing of one legal practitioner, Barrister Chigbo Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix.

 

Police announce the arrest on Sunday, say the action follow clear instruction from the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, to make sure say everybody wey get hand for the killing and similar crimes for Abuja go face justice.

 

Between January 5 and January 10, 2026, operatives of the Command Scorpion Squad, under ACP Victor Ogbeide Godfrey, use digital intelligence track the victim phone and carry out follow-up operations for Dei-Dei, Dakwa and Dan-Tata communities for Kubwa area.

 

This operation lead to the arrest of:

• Saifullahi Yusuf, 22 years, from Kaduna State, resident for Dan-Tata, Dei-Dei

• Ishau Yusuf, 24 years, from Kaduna State, also resident for Dan-Tata, Dei-Dei

• Minka’ilu Jibril, also known as Dan-Hajia, from Kaduna State

 

Police confirm say Saifullahi and Ishau na blood brothers.

 

Preliminary investigation show say the suspects be members of dangerous “one-chance” armed robbery gang wey don dey operate for FCT for years, especially during festive periods.

 

Police investigation further reveal say on January 5, 2026, around 5:50 p.m., Barrister Princess Chigbo enter their black Volkswagen Golf 3 motor for Kubwa Expressway, no knowing say na criminals dey inside. Once she enter, dem wind up the tinted glass and threaten am with weapons, demand ransom make dem release her.

 

When she allegedly refuse to cooperate, the suspects beat am and push am comot from the moving motor along Kubwa Expressway. She die from the injuries.

 

The suspects also confess say dem collect her Android phone and later sell am for Dei-Dei for ₦120,000. Police say:

• Minka’ilu Jibril collect ₦30,000

• Saifullahi Yusuf collect ₦15,000

• Ishau Yusuf and another suspect wey still dey run, Musa, share the remaining money

 

During arrest, police recover several weapons from the suspects, including:

• Five scissors

• Two sharp dagger knives

• Two knives

• One long chain wey dem dey use tie victims

• One plier

 

Police believe say na these weapons dem dey use for their criminal operations.

 

Investigation still dey go on, as police don intensify effort to arrest the remaining suspect wey still dey at large and uncover other criminal networks linked to the gang.

 

CP Miller Dantawaye commend the officers for their professionalism and dedication, and reassure Abuja residents say FCT Police Command no go rest until dem clear the territory of criminal elements.
