Nigeria’s U20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, have resumed camping in Abuja ahead of their crucial FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Senegal.

 

The team opened camp on Saturday, January 4, 2026, at the Westpoint Hotel, Abuja, marking the start of an intensive preparation programme for the third-round qualifying encounter.

 

Seventeen players are currently in camp, with more invited players expected to join in the coming days to complete the squad. Training sessions have already commenced, focusing on team cohesion, tactical organisation, and physical conditioning as the technical crew steps up preparations.

 

Head Coach Moses Aduku confirmed that preparations are progressing as planned, noting that players are being closely assessed through structured training sessions designed to enhance tactical discipline, game intelligence, and overall team organisation.

 

According to the coach, the technical crew remains focused on ensuring the team reaches peak performance levels ahead of the two-legged qualifier.

 

Nigeria will host the first leg of the encounter on Saturday, February 7, at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, while the return leg is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, in Dakar, Senegal.

 

The winners over the two legs will advance in the qualification race for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Poland later in the year.
