Nigerian rapper Phyno has shared his thoughts on the growing trend of relocating elderly parents to retirement homes or residential care facilities abroad. In a recent podcast, Phyno expressed his strong disagreement with this practice, citing cultural differences between Africa and the Western world.

"We don't put our dads in retirement homes in Africa," Phyno stated emphatically. "I know where I come from, and I know how we treat our fathers. I wouldn't put my dad in a retirement home, even if he was here (abroad). I would rather find a way around it."

Phyno highlighted the contrast between the Western approach to elder care and the traditional African way of caring for one's parents. "Here in the Western world, when you put your dads in retirement homes, you pay for it, right? In Africa, we would rather pay people to look after him at home than put him in a facility with others. That's not how it works, and it never will."
