The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) don react sharply after Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) seal their National Secretariat for Abuja.

 

After PDP National Caucus Meeting wey dem hold for Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge for Abuja, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State talk say the action na “pure irresponsibility.”

 

Him talk say:

“I wan use this chance tell una say our party office don dey sealed. This na the highest level of irresponsibility from this government. If na their hand dey inside, make dem come arrest all of us. We ready. We condemn am totally and we no go gree.”

 

“Dem wan celebrate Democracy Day, and na so una dey do am? This one no go work. We go stand gidigba and make sure say dem no get peace over this,” Bala Mohammed add.

 

Weytin happen be say FCTA take over Wadata Plaza – the building PDP dey use as national secretariat – say dem never pay ground rent for 28 years.

 

Director of Lands for FCTA, Mr. Chijoke Nwankwoeze, talk say dem don revoke the land title since March 14 and serve the official owner, Senator Samaila Kurfi, with the notice.

 

He explain say the land wey dey for Plot 1970, Michael Okpara Street, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, don officially return to FCTA after the owner no pay rent for nearly three decades.

 

When dem ask am whether PDP get notice, Nwankwoeze talk say FCTA no dey deal with tenants – say na only the land owner wey dey their record dem dey notify.

 

He also talk say the PDP office na the sixth property wey dem don seal as part of one big operation. He say the revocation affect 4,794 titles and the unpaid ground rent wey pile up reach over N6 billion.

 

“This sealing na part of enforcement. PDP own na number six. We go continue till we cover all revoked properties,” he talk.

 

But Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, talk say make nobody twist the matter say na politics.

 

“This one no be political witch-hunt. Na pure land matter under Land Use Act. We just dey follow the law,” Olayinka talk.

 

But PDP still dey vex, and dem don warn say dem no go fold hand look while their party dey face wetin dem call government intimidation.
