Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, wey be founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, don announce big change for how people dey marry inside the church.

 

Kumuyi talk say many of the marriage rules wey dem dey follow since no really come from Bible — say na just church arrangement, no be God commandment.

 

Di announcement happen during the 2025 Global Family and Marriage Conference, wey Kumuyi use talk say the ban wey no allow woman visit her suitor during courtship don end. Now, if dem wan visit each other, dem fit do am — as long as one church elder follow them go.

 

Pastor Kumuyi also talk about the six-month compulsory courtship wey Deeper Life dey do. E say the rule no dey inside Bible, and from now, e no go be by force again.

 

“We just think say people need time to sabi themselves. We say one month too short, two months still short, make we make am six months. But that one no dey Bible,” Kumuyi explain.

 

E still talk say Christians suppose get sense to know difference between church tradition and wetin God really talk for Bible.
