Ozalla Football Academy made a bold statement of intent on Monday when they thrashed Platinum FC 7-1 in an extraordinary fashion in their opening group B match of the Ginger Sam Stadium, Umuahia, in the ongoing NLO Youth League Playoffs, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Michael Abraham emerged the undisputed hero with a brace in the thrilling fixture. After All well Nwadiuche had opened scoring for the Coach Felix Ibe side on 17 minutes, Abraham dragged all the headlines to himself with his first half hattrick, scoring in 27th, 28th and 38th minutes.

But Platinum, who had 24hours earlier lost 0-4 to Rangels of Ichida, Anambra, in their opening game, reduced the tally to 3-1 before the half time whistle.

After the break, Ozalla continued from where they they left off, with Chidera Nnadi, Innocent Victor and Okwuchukwu Ezeaka all finding the back of the net on 55th, 83rd and 86th minutes respectively to bring the final scores to 7-1 in favour of the 2023 Anambra FA Cup winners, Ozalla FA.

The result sets the tonic for Tuesday's final group B clash between Ozalla FA and Rangels already tagged 'Anambra Derby'.

The winner will automatically snatch the sole qualification ticket from the group to face the winner from group A.

While Ozalla FA need to avoid defeat to coast home, Tangels would need a win of whatever scoreline to Coast home at the expense of Ozalla FA.

That was not all the cheering piece of news from Ozalla FA. His U14 side same day, Monday, 15 July, emerged champions of the Anambra Grassroot Football Coaches camping program at the Godwin Achebe Stadium, Fegge, Onitsha following a penalty shoot out triumph over All Stars FA, Okpok, Onitsha.
