Oyo kingmakers don reject di appointment of Prince Abimbola Owoade as di new Alaafin wey Governor Seyi Makinde announce. Dem say di appointment no follow due process, and dem no recommend am to di state government.

Di five kingmakers wey represent di town say dem stand by Prince Lukman Gbadegesin as di rightful Alaafin-elect. Dem claim say na Prince Lukman win di majority vote of di kingmakers since September 30, 2022, and dem forward am name to Governor Makinde for approval, but im no gree approve am. 

Di kingmakers also talk say dem surprise say di government claim say dem select Prince Owoade after wide consultation and divination. But dem say di Alaafin no be chosen by consultation or divination, but by following di native law and custom wey di Registered Alaafin of Oyo Chieftaincy Declaration of 1967 specify. 

Dem conclude say any meeting wey hold to select di new Alaafin without following di due process na null and void. Di kingmakers don vow to challenge di appointment in court.
