Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has ordered the expansion of roads around the Umuahia mega bus terminal to ensure easy vehicular movement. During an inspection visit, Otti expressed satisfaction with the project's progress, but noted some areas require minor adjustments. He wants the roads to be wider, with improved junctions and traffic lights, particularly around the Cooperative roundabout.

The Umuahia mega bus terminal project aims to replicate the success of Oshodi bus terminal in Lagos State. Otti envisions a central hub where buses, railways, shopping centers, hotels, and playgrounds converge, making the capital city more organized and attractive to businesses.

*Key Features of the Project:*

- _Central Bus Terminal_: for commuter buses
- _Railway Termination_: integrating rail transportation
- _Shopping Centers_: providing amenities for residents and visitors
- _Hotels_: catering to travelers and businessmen
- _Children's Playground_: promoting family-friendly activities

Otti emphasized that the project's primary goal is to prioritize the welfare of the people, ensuring the capital city looks like a capital ¹. He also thanked the church members for their support and assured them that his administration will continue to put the people first.

This project is part of Otti's urban renewal and public transport initiative, which includes other infrastructure developments in Abia State.
