Osun State Police Command don arrest four people, including one imam, after one worshipper, Najeem Hammed, die following wahala wey happen for mosque during early morning prayer for Ogo-Oluwa area.

 

The incident happen for Ummu Hanni Adigun Memorial Central Mosque, as worshippers dey pray early morning.

 

According to sources, Hammed try attack the imam while the imam dey deliver sermon, and other people for mosque intervene.

 

One resident wey no want make dem mention him name say the deceased try use microphone stand hit the imam but miss. The man add say other worshippers quickly hold Hammed, drag am comot from mosque and beat am outside.

 

The matter later report to Ataoja Police Division.

 

Another worshipper wey also confirm the story tell Saturday PUNCH say Hammed no happy with sermon because e think say the imam dey talk about am.

 

“The imam dey preach when the man stand up, come move towards am. He try hit the imam with microphone stand but miss. The imam run comot, some worshippers hold the man, drag am outside, then beat am,” the source talk.

 

Police later reach the scene, pick Hammed wey don get injury, and carry am go custody. But his condition worsen, so dem rush am hospital where doctor confirm say he don die.

 

The incident cause tension for the area as family members and friends of the deceased storm the mosque during Jumat service, threaten to do something before security operatives calm things down.

 

Confirming the case, Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State, Abiodun Ojelabi, say four suspects don arrest and investigation don start.

 

“The incident happen shortly after 6am. Four suspects don arrest. The Divisional Police Officer and tactical teams don deploy to maintain law and order. The body don deposit for Osun State Teaching Hospital,” Ojelabi say.
