Senator Adams Oshiomhole has launched a scathing critique of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing both men as lacking the qualities necessary to lead credible political movements in Nigeria. Oshiomhole reserved his harshest words for Amaechi, whom he labelled “the most terrible.” He questioned Amaechi’s suitability for national leadership, citing his record as governor as evidence of disregard for effective governance and public interest.

 

“Look at the way he talks. When he responded to what Wike said about him, he said, ‘I don’t talk to children.’ So a former governor, a former minister, a current minister, is a child in the eyes of Amaechi,” Oshiomhole said, highlighting the former governor’s arrogance and dismissive attitude.

 

The senator described Amaechi’s public discourse as arrogant and disrespectful, pointing to his interactions with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as an example of poor engagement and leadership style.

 

Oshiomhole also criticised Atiku Abubakar, arguing that despite his long political career, he had not demonstrated the capacity to mobilize meaningful political support or build consensus. He stressed that leadership should be measured not only by holding office but also by personal conduct and the ability to inspire confidence among citizens.

 

“Credible political movements require leaders with integrity, humility, and a proven track record of public service,” the senator said, insisting that both Amaechi and Atiku fall short of these standards.

 

Oshiomhole warned Nigerians to carefully examine the records of both politicians before trusting their leadership claims, emphasizing the need for leaders who can foster constructive dialogue, demonstrate humility, and serve the public interest effectively.

 

The remarks add to the ongoing debate about leadership credibility and accountability among Nigeria’s senior political figures, particularly ahead of upcoming election cycles.
