Orji Kalu Claims Swift Telecom Response After Network Complaint in His Village
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed that telecommunications providers acted swiftly after he raised concerns about poor network coverage in his village.
According to the former Abia State governor, just six days after he complained about the lack of service, top executives from MTN Nigeria and Globacom intervened directly.
“After I complained that there was no network in my village 6 days ago, the Managing Director of MTN and chairman of Globacom brought network masts and installed them in front of my house. So, there is network coverage in my village now and there is no more excuse,” Kalu said.
The senator did not disclose the exact location of the village but suggested that the rapid deployment of network infrastructure has resolved connectivity challenges in the area.
His statement has since sparked conversations online, with some praising the quick response by the telecom companies, while others questioned the speed of the intervention compared to similar complaints from less prominent communities.
The development highlights ongoing concerns about rural connectivity in Nigeria, where many communities still struggle with limited or inconsistent telecommunications coverage.
