Organisers of the annual Judith Chime Women (Football) Championship have confirmed that no fewer than 24 clubs have confirmed their participation in this year's edition of the championship, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Similarly, venues for the championship which will be held in Enugu, for the second time, have been confirmed, the organisers further revealed on Tuesday, 9 December, 2025.

The week-long Women football showpiece has been billed to hold 13-20 December, 2025.

"24 teams will take part in this year's edition of the championship", Judith Chime, a former Nigeria Super Falcons goalkeeper and championship sponsor said to Exclusivenews.com.ng Tuesday afternoon.

"We're making every effort to ensure a hitch-free and successful tournament. It only gets better each edition, every year and we're always inspired to deliver a glamorous tournament.

"About the venues for the tournament, of course, the increase in demand for participation has meant the spread of matches simultaneously across several venues.

"For this year's edition, we're going to use the University of Nigeria, Enugu, UNEC, football pitch. We're also going to use the Ngwo Park which has two good pitches. We're making efforts to get approval for another pitch so the games will go on simultaneously across the venues", Chime explained.

Imo Strikers Queens are current title holders following victory in last year's tournament held in Enugu.

The annual Judith Chime Championship is the flagship of Women football competitions open for girls across the entire country.

"It's my own little way of giving back to the society. Besides, the primary objective is to create a platform for the girl child to use her talent and skill to make a better future for themselves and their families through soccer", Chime said
