The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) don release full breakdown of how candidates perform for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and di figures show say only small number reach top scores.

 

According to wetin JAMB talk, out of the 1,955,069 candidates wey sit for the exam across Nigeria, only 12,414 candidates (0.63%) score 300 and above. Inside that number, just 4,756 candidates (0.24%) manage reach 320 and above, while 7,658 (0.39%) fall between 300 to 319.

 

Here’s how the rest perform:

• 73,441 candidates (3.76%) score between 250 to 299

• The highest chunk, 983,187 (50.29%), score between 160 to 199

• 334,560 (17.11%) score 200 to 249

• 488,197 (24.97%) land between 140 to 159

• 57,419 (2.94%) score 120 to 139

• 3,820 (0.20%) get between 100 to 119

• And just 2,031 (0.10%) score below 100

 

On top of that, 40,247 underage candidates wey JAMB allow to write the exam to discover special talent, only 467 (1.16%) meet the “exceptional” performance standard. JAMB say dem go review their results to see if dem fit move forward.

 

The board also talk say:

• 97 candidates already confirm say dem cheat.

• Another 2,157 candidates dey under investigation for suspected exam malpractice.

• 71,701 candidates no show for the exam at all.

• Some people wey get biometric issues still dey go through verification; once dem clear, dem go reschedule to write again.

 

JAMB say the results for blind candidates and others under JEOG category still dey process.

 

Finally, the board announce say dem go hold press conference later this week to tell candidates how to check their individual results.
