General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Pastor Daniel Olukoya, don warn UK-based activist, Maureen Badejo, make she stop to dey make wetin e call defamatory allegations against am, or else she go face fresh legal action for contempt of court.

 

Badejo na founder of GATE (Guardians Against False Teachings). The warning come after allegation say she don resume to dey publish claims against Olukoya, despite court judgment and injunction wey UK court reportedly grant in im favour for 2021.

 

According to court papers, Pastor Olukoya and im wife, Folashade, file defamation case against Badejo for October 2020. The case come from allegations wey touch on dishonesty and sexual misconduct.

 

Badejo reportedly argue say the allegations na true. But for April 2021, UK High Court strike out her defence, say e no get reasonable ground and amount to abuse of court process.

 

The court later give summary judgment in favour of Olukoya and im wife, and issue injunction wey stop Badejo from repeating or republishing the allegations. Court also order am make she publish summary of the judgment for her social media pages.

 

For October 2021, the court assess damages and order Badejo make she pay £65,000 to Olukoya and £35,000 to im wife as compensation.

 

However, for statement wey Olukoya lawyers release, dem accuse Badejo say she don repeat the same allegations again for recent weeks, wey dem say na clear violation of court order.

 

The legal team say dem don formally warn the activist say any further repetition go lead to contempt of court proceedings. Dem add say contempt of court na criminal matter, wey fit attract fine or even prison sentence, stressing say the issue don pass reputation matter and don enter enforcement of rule of law.

 

Pastor Olukoya, however, talk say e still dey open to peaceful settlement, but insist say judgment of the High Court must be respected and obeyed.
