Super Eagles second choice goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo remains positive his move to Sudanese giants, Al Merreikh Omdurman, will not ruin his Super Eagles goalkeeping spot, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure shot-stopper recently penned a two-year contract with Al Merreikh and after his 'valedictory' match with Enyimba in Sunday's 2-0 triumph over Plateau Utd in Aba, Olorunleke said he has no fears standing in-between the sticks for the Sudanese club would have adverse effect on his further invitation to the senior National Team, Super Eagles.

"No, no, no. I don't believe that. It's the same football. Even where I'm going to (Sudan), I won't say its better than Nigerian football, you understand?. ", Ojo responded sharply during a post match session.

Ojo would go on to pay glowing tribute to the Nigerian top flight, crediting his career successes so far to the NPFL.

"Nigerian League made me. I'll forever be grateful and proud of where I started from. So I don't think there is going to be any concern about that. It's not going to change anything".

Departing Ojo advised Enyimba players to keep up the 'People's Elephant Spirit' even as he finally calls time on his spell with the two-time CAF Champions League winners.

"They should continue with the 'fight', Ojo fires back. "As you can see, we had a lot of challenges this season.

"There was a whole lot of pressure and odds against the team. But I thank God for the resilience of our players. We talked to ourselves that no matter what, we must fight till the end.

"And as you can see, our 'fight' paid off because if not, we wouldn't have won our match today (against Plateau Utd).

"So, I've spoken to them already, that they should continue from where we stopped and I wish them the best of the season 2024/2025)".

Prior to the NPFL Match Day 38 against Plateau United in Aba, in which he was to make his final appearance for the 'Blues', Ojo too to his Facebook page to promise showing 'love' to the  'supportive' Enyimba fans, a promise he dutifully fulfilled moments after the final whistle as spread wads of Naira Notes to the surging fans.

"Yes, I've done that", he responded with a lovely smile on a bright face on the evening of his last match for a club that has been paying his salaries since the past two years.

Enyimba were NPFL title favourites but eventually managed to scoop the CAF Confederation Cup ticket after finishing third behind eventual winners, Rangers, and second placed Remo Stars.

Reflecting on his last duty for the People's Elephant, a Match Day 38 fixture against Plateau Utd, Ojo said he was happy it all ended in praises.

"I feel good; I feel happy and I thank God that it ended well", the Al Merreikh Omdurman, Sudan bound Nigeria international goalkeeper sounded.
