Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has claimed that some of his colleagues in the music industry are envious of his success.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Toronto Ada’s Room Podcast, the Pity This Boy hitmaker dismissed the narrative that he lacks lyrical depth, insisting that such claims are driven by jealousy.

“In Nigeria, they say that my rap is not good, but I’m the most featured rapper by international artists. I think it’s a thing of envy because I sing my hooks, my songs are hits, and I get more bookings than them,” he said.

Odumodublvck argued that despite criticisms about his style, he has achieved more international recognition than any other Nigerian rapper. He believes some of his peers are uncomfortable with his ability to both rap and sing successfully.

“The envy is deep, especially when they think they are better. But we pay no mind to that. We just continue pushing for those that believe—let them continue to tune in. It’s very unfortunate for the people on the other side because this thing is not going to stop soon,” he added.

The rapper also threw a challenge to his critics, urging them to prove their superiority through commercial success.

“If you think you’re better than me, sell more records and shows,” he declared.

Odumodublvck has continued to make waves on the Nigerian and international music scenes, known for his distinctive fusion of rap, street culture, and Afro-inspired rhythms that have earned him a loyal fan base.
