GROUP E

This group will be an interesting one, with the strong powers in African Football battling it with the assumed minnows. Though, there are no longer minnows in the game. It will an interesting and amazing group. 

TUNISIA (Eagles Of Carthage) 

The Tunisia national football team is  known as the Eagles of Carthage. 

On FIFA ranking, they are currently ranked 32 as at 26 October 2023. Their highest ranking ever was number 14 which they attained in April – May 2018. 

Tunisia first International match was their 4–2  victory over Libya in Tunis, on 2 June 1957. The Eagles of Carthage biggest win was an  8–1 bashing of Republic of China in Rome, Italy on 18 August 1960. Their biggest defeat was in the hands of Hungary who whitewashed them 10–1 in Budapest, Hungary; on 24 July 1960. 

Tunisia has appeared at the World Cup 6 times, with the first in 1978. They were also at the 1998, 2002, 2006, 2018, 2022 editions. 

They have been to the Africa Cup of Nations
21 times, with the first been in 1962. They were champions in  2004

Tunisia is one of the most competitive African national teams in international football, having won one African Cup of Nations, as hosts in 2004.They have made six FIFA World Cups and twenty Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, and participated in four editions of the Olympic football tournaments.

The Tunisians have 5 over 10 possibilities of winning the trophy in Coted'ivoire. 

MALI (EAGLES) 

The Mali national football team is nickname the Les Aigles (The Eagles)

On FIFA ranking, they are Currently ranked 47 as at 26 October 2023. Their highest ranking ever was 23 attained in June 2013. Their first international was a 4–3 win over Central African Republic in Madagascar. The match was 13 April 1960. Their biggest win was against Mauritania on 1 October 1972 where they won by 11-0.

Mali has been to the Africa Cup of Nations 13 times with the first in 1972. Their best result was a runners-up in 1972. While Mali is a major youth football power in both Africa and the world, they have never qualified for any senior FIFA World Cup finals in history. They have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations on 13 occasions.

Mali were suspended by FIFA on 17 March 2017 due to 'government interference' with the national football association, namely dissolving its executive committee. However, the side was re-instated by FIFA on 29 April after the executive committee was re-introduced by the Malian government.

SOUTH AFRICA (BAFANA BAFANA) 

 The South Africa men’s national soccer team is nicknamed Bafana Bafana (The Boys/Go boys go boys). The team's greatest result was winning the Africa Cup of Nations at home in 1996. 
In FIFA ranking, South Africa is ranked 64 as at 26 October 2023. Their highest ranking was Number 16 in August 1996. 

South Africa first international was against Argentina on 9 July 1906 which  South Africa won by a lone goal. The game was played in Buenos Aires, Argentina! 

South Africa biggest win was on 17 September 1955 when they were bashed 0-8 by Australia in Adelaide, Australia. 

They have been to the World Cup three times, the first been  in 1998. The others were in 2002, 2010 when they hosted. 

They have appeared in the Africa Cup of Nations eleven time with the first in 1996. 

Having played their first match in 1906, they returned to the world stage in 1992, after 16 years of being banned from FIFA, and 40 years of effective suspension due to the apartheid system.South Africa became the first African nation to host the FIFA World Cup when it was granted host status for the 2010 edition. The team's Siphiwe Tshabalala was also the first player to score in this World Cup during the opening game against Mexico, which was followed by an iconic Macarena-style goal celebration from five South African players. Despite defeating France 2–1 in their final game of the Group Stage, they failed to progress from the first round of the tournament, becoming the first host nation in the history of the FIFA World Cup to exit in the group stage, followed by Qatar in 2022.S outh Africa has 4 over 10 possibilities of winning the coveted in Abidjan. 

NAMIBIA (BRAVE WARRIORS) 

The Namibia national football team have never qualified for the FIFA World Cup but have made three appearances in the Africa Cup of Nations. 

They are Nicknamed the Brave Warriors. They are ranked 114 on FIFA ranking as at 26 October 2023 and their highest ranking been 68 attained in November 1998. 

Namibia highest win ever was a 6–0 bashing of Botswana  in 
Windhoek, Namibia on 25 August 1996. 

They have been to the Africa Cup of Nations three times, with the first in 1998. They were also there in 2008, 2019. 

Namibia played its first international under the name South-West Africa on 16 May 1989 at home against neighbouring Angola and lost 1–0. On 23 March 1990, only two days after gaining independence from South Africa, they hosted neighbour Zimbabwe and lost 5–1. On 7 June, they lost a home friendly 2–1 to Mauritius. Namibia's next contests were played in Lesotho, where they lost 2–0 to their hosts on 1 August 1992, but gained their first ever draw in a 2–2 tie against the same opposition the very next day. Namibia's first win came on 1 July 1994 in a 1–0 victory away over Botswana in a friendly. On the possibility of emerging champions in Cote d'iviore, Namibia has 2 percent chance of winning.
