National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) don comot all their corps members wey dey for crisis area for Benue State go settle dem for Makurdi, na wetin Mrs Veronica Garba, wey be Benue State NYSC Coordinator yarn on Thursday for Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area.

 

According to wetin she talk, as dem hear say gbege don burst for Yelewata and Daudu, NYSC management sharply call police wey rush go carry the corps members comot for danger.

 

“She talk say, ‘We no dey play with the safety of our corps members because we dey see dem like our pikin. As we hear say crisis don start, we sharply contact the Commissioner of Police. E come send him officers make dem help us evacuate all our corps members.’”

 

After dem carry dem comot, Garba talk say NYSC settle all of dem inside family houses for Makurdi. These houses na those wey belong to Nigeria Corpers Christian Fellowship (NCCF), National Association of Catholic Corps Members (NACCM), and Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN).

She talk say dem do head count and nobody miss.

“After the evacuation, we count everybody and confirm say all of dem dey safe. We come work with the heads of the different family houses to make sure say all the corps members settle well for Makurdi. Dem go stay there until the situation for outside calm down,” she add.

 

Mrs Garba still beg parents make dem no worry, say their pikin dem dey safe and nothing do dem. She assure say as security people don enter Benue full ground, peace go soon return.

 

“She yarn say, ‘I believe say parents don hear say all the security chiefs don enter Benue now, so make una no fear. Above all, na God be the real security, and He dey with una children anywhere dem dey.’”

 

This whole matter happen shortly after President Bola Tinubu waka come Makurdi on Wednesday. As e reach there, e meet with stakeholders and order security people make dem protect the people well and catch anybody wey get hand for the killings wey don happen recently.

 

NYSC say dem go continue dey monitor the matter, and corps members no go return to their original posts until everywhere don calm.
