The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership Matchday 3 saw thrilling encounters across the country, with Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels securing emphatic wins, while Adamawa Queens dominated Delta Queens in Gombe.

At the Patami Stadium in Gombe, Adamawa Queens cruised to a 3-0 victory over Delta Queens. Afensimi Omon was the star of the show, netting a superb hat-trick with goals in the 45+2nd, 60th, and 75th minutes to secure all three points for the home side.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels emerged victorious in a thrilling 4-2 win over Robo Queens. Ifeoma Polinus opened the scoring in the 9th minute, but Robo Queens’ Kemi Adegbuji quickly equalized in the 13th minute. The hosts pulled away in the second half with goals from Aminat Folarunsho (50’), a Fasilat Adeyemo own goal (53’), and a Peace Effiong penalty (65’). Chidinma Ogbuchi pulled one back for Robo Queens in the 78th minute, but it wasn’t enough to spark 

Bayelsa Queens made a statement with a dominant 5-1 away win against Benue Queens. Chinwe Akabike gave the visitors an early lead in the 17th minute, and Amblessed Ogbonnaya added two more (20’, 47’). Vera Samuel (33’) and Rita Uduakabong (87’) also got on the scoresheet, while Anastasia Emefo’s 54th-minute strike was only a consolation for Benue Queens.

• Nasarawa Amazons edged Confluence Queens 1-0 in Anyigba, thanks to Shobowale Olusola’s 29th-minute goal.

• Heartland Queens and Abia Angels played out a goalless draw in Owerri.

• Ekiti Queens secured a 2-0 win over Dannaz Ladies, with goals from Seun Fakunle (36’) and Tobi Sarafa (55’).

• Naija Ratels staged a comeback to beat Ibom Angels 2-1. Ugobest Osuji (6’) gave Ibom an early lead, but Glory Sunday (72’) and Tea-Bee Rita (83’) turned it around for the home side.

• Edo Queens and Remo Stars Ladies shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Benin City. Esther Moses (PK, 45+2’) gave Edo the lead before Olamide Bolaji (50’) equalized for the visitors.

With Matchday 3 completed, the NWFL Premiership continues to heat up as teams battle for supremacy in Nigeria’s elite women’s football league.
