The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has approved the return of Ekiti Queens to their home ground in Ado-Ekiti following the successful completion of a venue sanction.

 

The sanction had earlier forced the club to relocate their home matches to Abeokuta due to breaches of league regulations concerning matchday organisation and security protocols at their home venue.

 

After meeting all operational and safety requirements set by the league, Ekiti Queens have now been cleared to resume hosting matches in Ado-Ekiti, starting from Matchday 12 of the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership season.

 

The Southwest-based side is expected to formally mark their return on Matchday 15, when they host regional rivals Pacesetter Queens in front of their home supporters.

 

In a related development, the NWFL has also lifted the spectator ban on Ibom Angels FC, allowing fans back into their home ground in Uyo.

 

The restriction had been imposed following incidents involving crowd control and violations of matchday conduct regulations, which led to several fixtures being played behind closed doors.

 

Following a comprehensive review of the club’s matchday operations—including improved security arrangements and adherence to league guidelines—the NWFL confirmed that Ibom Angels have satisfied all necessary conditions.

The NWFL reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, and integrity across all venues, while commending both clubs for their cooperation and compliance throughout the sanction period.
