Nigeria Rugby Football Federation continues in its bid to make rugby a household sports in Nigeria.
The federation,recently,organised a seminar and workshop for referees and coaches,and now, is also putting together a level 1 Medical and World Anti -Doping Agency training course in conjunction with its partners,Sports and Youth development Academy,SYDA and Africa Sports Connect,ASC tagged ‘ encouraging drug free sports environment ‘
The event is expected to run from 15th to 18th February,2023 in Abuja with the participants from the six geopolitical zones expected to arrive on the 15th of February,2023.
Speaking ahead of the event,the President,NRFF Dr Ademola Are said ‘we are leaving no stone unturned in our bid make rugby a stable in every home,which is why we are starting from the basic, the people running this game must be conversant with do’s and don’ts of the game’
‘It is important that the players and coaches get the right information which is the reason why this training course is very important because we don’t want our players or coaches to fall foul of the law’
The three day seminar will see the minister of youth and sports development,Sunday Dare and permanent secretary,Ismaila Abubakar gracing the occasion .
