NPFL U.17 Lafia Zone: Plateau United Humiliate Niger Tornadoes 4-0

It was beehive of activities at the Lafia City Stadium when it host the North Central teams of the npfl U17 Youth League.
The quartet of Kwara United, Lobi Stars, Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes were drafted to Lafia to compete for the sole slot of the zone.
After the verification and screening the state coordinator, Barr. Paul Edeh in his address urged the teams to see this tournament as an avenue to promote the spirit Sportsmanship and not dwell on an form of negatives.
The opening game of the zone saw Plateau United beat Niger Tornadoes 4-0 in a game were the Jos boys totally dominated.
Abdul Musa had put Plateau ahead in the 33rd minutes before a brace from Daniel Aboh and Christopher Dauda late header made sure Plateau United began on a positive note.
In the second game, Lobi Stars had to come back twice before scoring the winning with what could be termed as the last kick of the match.
Olatunji Yusuf had broken the deadlock in the 11th minutes before Lobi Stars were awarded a spotkick where Terhinde Samson cooly converted in the 38th minutes.
Kwara United responded quickly when Olatunji Yusuf completed his brace just a minute to half time as Kwara United led heading into the dressing room.
The young Lobi Rising Stars however turned the table around when substitute Sule Nelson scored a quick brace in the 87th and 90th minutes to break the heart of the Kwara United boys.
In the first game Dayong Elisha of Plateau United was voted the player of the match while Sule Nelson of Lobi Stars won the man of the match award against Kwara United.
Kwara United will face Niger Tornadoes in the first game of day two while the second game will see Plateau United tackle Lobi Stars shortly after.
All games will be played at the Lafia City Stadium beginning from 8am.
