Kano Pillars have been charged with violating the NPFL Framework & Rules during their Matchday 9 fixture against Nasarawa United on Sunday.

The charges stem from a statement issued by their Media and Communications Directorate, in which player Ahmed Musa made disparaging remarks about match officials. Such comments are considered damaging to the integrity of the game.

Additionally, Kano Pillars failed to maintain proper conduct among their team, leading to the unruly behavior of player Ugochukwu Gabriel during the match. As a result, Gabriel, wearing jersey number 26, has been suspended for nine league matches starting from Matchday 10.

Kano Pillars have been fined a total of N2 million: N1 million for misconduct that could harm the game’s reputation, and another N1 million for the improper conduct of their players and officials.

The club has also received a warning against publishing inflammatory statements in the future and has been advised to utilize appropriate channels for complaints, as further violations may result in more severe penalties.

Kano Pillars have the right to appeal these sanctions within 48 hours of receiving the notice.
