Kwara United midfielder,  ThankGod Ikeagwu says playing in the Nigeria top flight is a journey for him as he is heading somewhere with his career.

Terry, as he is often called, made this known  to Aiyeku Timothy in a chat after the middle belt side failed to pick a point away from Kano Pillars on Thursday  at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The Masu Gida boys redeemed their pride before the fans by coming from behind to seal a slim 2-1 win against Kwara United just before the sound of the final whistle.

The midfielder, who played in the NNL with FWC Champions FC last season, has since settled and has become a regular with the top flight team.

According to him, the difference between playing in the NNL and the NPFL is mentality and the professionalism in the topflight league.

In his words, "Playing in the first league in Nigeria is not an easy task. Professionalism and organization make the difference.

"I will say the difference is mentality. You need to have a perfect mindset when coming to Npfl to compete and challenge with the best."

Speaking further, he noted that playing in the NPFL is only a journey as his dream is to play abroad and also get a call to fly the nation’s colours.

"I will say this a stepping stone to where God is taking me to. I am looking forward to playing for the national team and playing abroad as well, God willing."
