NPFL Inspects Dan Anyiam Stadium As Ahead Kun Khalifat Return To Ancestral Home For Oriental Derby Versus Enyimba

Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has undertaken an inspection of the Dan Anyiam Stadium to determine its readiness for NPFL matches, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
If approved, as expected, the stadium will be center the Oriental Derby between struggling Kun Khalifat and Enyimba, a matchday 8 fixture billed Sunday, 12 October, 2025.
On Thursday, 9 October, the Chief Operating Officer, COO, of the league body, Davidson Owumi, was at the stadium to inspect the state of facilities at the stadium and renovation work in readiness for the edifice for its use for league matches.
Owumi, a former Nigeria international and ex-Rangers General Manager, confirmed exclusively to Exclusivenews.com.ng that he was in Owerri to inspect the Dan Anyiam Satdium ahead its use by Kun Khalifat FC for their home matches, starting with this weekend's matchday 8 tie versus Enyimba.
"Yes, I came to Owerri to take a look at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, to see if it's suitable enough for NPFL matches", Owumi told Completesports.com Thursday evening.
"There is a minor renovation work going on and hopefully it would be completed between today and tomorrow (Friday) so we could know if it would be give the green light", Owumi, who is called 'Okada Air', explained.
Amongst facilities Davidson Owumi inspected include the dressing rooms and the playing pitch.
If the Dan Anyiam Stadium eventually gets the nod to host NPFL matches as expected, Kun Khalifat first match there will be the matchday 8 big Oriental Derby clash against Enyimba on Sunday, 8 October, 2025.
Before now, Kun Khalifat FC, who pride themselves as the 'Pride of Imolites' had hosted their home games at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Exxclusivenews.com.ng reports that it hasn't been a smooth campaign for Kun Khalifat so far in their elite league debut season.
The Coach Obinna Uzoho charges have garnered only five (5) points from a possible 21 points, following a win and two draws, as they sit bottom of the 2025/2026 NPFL Standings.
