Popular Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe has been hospitalised with internal bleeding after a dramatic on-set incident involving fellow actor Zubby Michael during the filming of a new action movie in Enugu.

According to eyewitnesses on set, the two actors were filming a high-stakes fight scene when the scripted choreography went awry. Michael allegedly delivered an unscripted or overly forceful kick to Nnadiekwe’s chest, causing the latter to collapse. Production was immediately halted as crew members rushed to his aid.

Nnadiekwe, known for his dynamic performances in action and drama roles, was taken to a nearby private hospital, where doctors confirmed he had suffered internal bleeding. A source close to the actor described his condition as “serious but stable,” noting that he is currently under observation in the intensive care unit.

Zubby Michael has not issued an official statement, but a member of his team said the incident was “a tragic accident” and expressed concern for Nnadiekwe’s recovery.

The film’s director, who asked not to be named, told reporters: “We take safety on set very seriously. This was an unfortunate and unexpected occurrence, and we are cooperating with medical professionals and industry safety officials to ensure it does not happen again.”

Fans of both actors have taken to social media to express shock and support, with many calling for clearer safety protocols during Nollywood’s increasingly complex action scenes.

As of this report, Nnadiekwe remains hospitalized, and no legal action has been filed. Further updates are expected in the coming days.
