The Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Abia State Directorate, Victor O. Orji, on Wednesday participated in the 1st Quarter State Taskforce on Primary Health Care meeting held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Governor’s Office, Government House, Umuahia.

 

The meeting, which commenced at 2:30 p.m., centered on the uptake of measles-rubella vaccination across Abia State. Stakeholders reviewed progress made so far, examined existing challenges, and proposed practical strategies to improve coverage and protect children from preventable diseases.

 

In his opening remarks, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu, welcomed participants and underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among government agencies and development partners to strengthen primary health care delivery in the state.

 

During deliberations, Comrade Orji highlighted the ongoing NOA sensitization campaign on “Election Without Bitterness” ahead of the 2027 general elections. He stressed the need for continuous public enlightenment to promote peaceful political participation, discourage electoral violence, and foster unity among citizens.

 

He further noted that a peaceful environment remains critical for the success of public health initiatives and overall societal development.

 

Responding, the Deputy Governor commended the NOA for its proactive efforts, acknowledging the value of integrating civic education with health programs. He urged the agency to sustain and expand grassroots sensitization campaigns to enhance both public health outcomes and civic responsibility across Abia State.
