NNPC, Dangote Forge Stronger Strategic Partnership …Reaffirm Commitment to Energy Security and National Prosperity

In a significant move toward reinforcing Nigeria’s energy security and economic development, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) and Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals (DPRP) have pledged to deepen their strategic partnership through sustained collaboration and healthy competition.
This renewed commitment was solidified during a courtesy visit by the President and Chief Executive of Dangote Group, Mr. Aliko Dangote, to the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Thursday.
Mr. Dangote, while congratulating Ojulari and his management team on their recent appointments, emphasized the importance of synergy between both energy giants.
“There is no competition between us,” Dangote stated. “NNPC is part and parcel of our business, and we are also part of NNPC. This is an era of co-operation between the two organisations.”
He assured the NNPC leadership of his full support in advancing the country’s energy goals, describing the GCEO’s mandate as “monumental but achievable,” given the quality of talent within NNPC.
In response, Mr. Ojulari expressed NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to a productive and mutually beneficial relationship.
“We are ready to build a legacy of national prosperity through innovation and shared purpose,” Ojulari said. “We see Dangote Group not as a rival but as a strategic partner in delivering energy solutions to Nigeria.”
Ojulari also praised the professionalism and dedication of NNPC’s workforce, stating that the company is primed to drive value creation and position Nigeria as a key player in the global energy market.
Both leaders agreed to act as relationship managers for their respective institutions, ensuring continuous engagement and shared progress. The partnership is expected to unlock new commercial opportunities and solidify Nigeria’s march toward energy independence.
