Wikki Tourists of Bauchi at the weekend raised the hopes of the possibility of picking a Super 8 play off when they rounded up Mighty Jets of Jos by 4-1.
Ahmad Abubakar scored a hat trick in the match which is a  match day 17 of the Nigeria National League Conference C played at the Atb Stadium, Bauchi. 

Right from the first minute of the encounter Wikki Tourists did not leave any one in doubt on  their quest for total victory. 

Ten minutes into the game WikkiTourists got a penalty and Mamuda Aliyu stepped forward to take the kick but was saved by Jets keeper. 

Ahmad Abubakar was on hand in the 25 minutes when he got the opening goal for Wikki Tourists finishing with a classical touch. 

The relentless Abubakar came for the second time five minutes later after a goalmouth scramble took a shot that got the Jets goalie diving in vain to stop the goal  sending both teams to the locker for the first half break. 

On resumption the rejuvenated Ahmad Abubakar increased the tally for his team to three making it a hat trick and demoralized the visitor's efforts to cause havoc for the home team. 

 A consolation goal for the jos based side came in the 85 minutes via a spot kick by Ogonye Martins sending Wikki Tourists keeper to the wrong direction with his simple kick. 

Wikki Tourists substitute Owolabi Aremu  who is the team's high goal scorer wrap up the goal hauling on Mighty Jets with a superb spot kick following his pushing in the  box by Jets defenders making the result 4-1 advantage Wikki Tourists FC.

The Wikki Tourists tactician emphasized the importance of the last game of the season against EFCC in Abuja stressing that with the victory, Wikki Tourists is very much in contention. 

Smart City FC of Lagos  at the Uyo township stadium dealt a bad hand on Vandrezzer fc, as they whipped their host by 2-0. 

 City came into the game smokey and hungry for victory, after hammering Ekiti Utd., 5-0, in Lagos. 
  
 Fuad Ibrahim, opened the scoring for city in the second half, after city's pressure was too intense for the home team's defence to handle. The goal from Fuad was the tonic city needed to further boost their confidence, as they mounted continuous pressure on their opponents, resulting to the second goal from Chukwudi Ekeocha who finished brilliantly, to double city's lead and send the city bench into wild jubilation and ecstacy.

 City made sure they kept all three points at stake, as they weathered and defended well. 

Speaking after the game, coach of smart City, Kabiru Alausa, said, he is elated with the form of his players, adding, that, he told his boys, if they should play the way they played against Ekiti united in Lagos, nothing will stop them from getting a positive result in Uyo.

  "I want to say, my boys has really peaked and are in good form, I told them to forget the 5-0 mauling of Ekiti, that they should put the game against Vandrezzer in their thoughts and they did and our approach against Vandrezzer was very palatable and the result was well deserved" he said.

Nasarawa United, the Solid Miners  boosted their quest for a swift return to the Nigeria Premier Football League  following an emphatic 2-0 Conference C win over visiting EFCC FC in the match-day fifteen of the  2023/24 Nigeria National League decided at the Lafia City Stadium.

Mid-season purchase, Terdoo Shimaga, netted a brace in both the 10th and 34th minutes respectively before the break to ensure United would require only one point to officially guarantee a play-off spot, with their away game against Zamfara United in Sokoto on Saturday, 27th April, 2024, the determinant.

Attacker, Shimaga, was voted Man-of-the-Match in the game versus EFCC as the Lafia-based side climaxed their home fixtures winning all eight games.

El-Kanemi Warriors' slim win over hosts, Yobe Desert Stars, in the other Conference C game ensured the Maiduguri-based team are the first side to qualify for the Super Eight after ending the Season with 34 points.

Speaking immediately after the match, Nasarawa United Head Coach  Adams Usman said "Win, by whatever margin, was what we needed today, and we got it,  though it's not how we wanted the goals to be.

"We struck the upright and woodwork on a couple of occasions but we are still grateful for the outcome at the end of the day.

"I commend my players for taking the chances that led to the two goals.

"Going forward, the permutations are still ongoing as we go into our last game of the Conference on the road in Sokoto a week from now. We have the advantage to top the Group as we look forward to picking an outright win against Zamfara United.

"I wish to reiterate that our supporters and fans should still keep hope alive as qualification for the play-off is very much not a bygone" he concluded. 

Meanwhile, Jigawa Golden Stars and Mailantarki Care FC failed to survive relegation after the conclusion of Conferences D of the 2023/2024 NNL season 

Although, Mailantarki defeated Jigawa by 2-1 in the last match of the conference but that was not enough to prevent  the team from escaping relegation to the NLO.

Both teams had 14 points each with Kebbi Utd but the later escaped the drop with a superior goal aggregate.

City FC of Abuja that came last on  Conference D log with 10 points also joined the two teams to be relegated to the NLO.
