NNL Chairman, George Aluo, Receives SWAN Sports Administrator of the Year Award
The Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, was honored with the prestigious Sports Administrator of the Year Award by the Imo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
The award ceremony, which marked the culmination of the 2024 SWAN Week, was held at the Rock View Hotel in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
According to the Imo SWAN Chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka, Aluo was deserving of the award due to his outstanding impact on the NNL since assuming leadership.
"We recognized the significant improvements in the NNL under his guidance," Chukwuemeka said. "As an indigene of Imo State, we are proud to honor him with this award."
Aluo expressed his gratitude to Imo SWAN for the recognition, attributing the success to the collective efforts of the NNL team.
"We are humbled by this recognition," Aluo said. "I thank the Nigeria Football Federation, led by President Ibrahim Gusau, for their support, as well as my board members and staff for their hard work."
Notable dignitaries in attendance included the NNL CEO, Emmanuel Attah, and the Anambra State Football Association Chairman, Chikelue Iloyoensi.
The award serves as a testament to Aluo's dedication to improving the NNL and promoting Nigerian football.
