Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made an impressive debut for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women’s Super League today, helping her side to a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Aston Villa at the Broadfield Stadium.

The Nigerian international, who joined Brighton during the summer transfer window, wasted no time in showing her quality. Nnadozie recorded four crucial saves and five clearances, earning praise from fans and pundits alike for her commanding presence between the posts.

In a match where both sides struggled to find a breakthrough, Nnadozie’s heroics proved vital in keeping Brighton level against a determined Villa side led by Rachel Daly. The 24-year-old keeper was alert throughout, including a reflex save in the 77th minute that denied a close-range effort from Alisha Lehmann.

Speaking after the match, Brighton head coach Melissa Phillips said, “Chiamaka showed exactly why we brought her in. She was calm, composed, and made some top-class saves. It’s a fantastic start for her.”

Nnadozie, who starred for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, is expected to play a key role in Brighton’s campaign as they look to climb the WSL table this season.

Brighton’s next fixture sees them travel to face Manchester United, while Aston Villa will host Tottenham Hotspur.
