Organisers of the third tier domestic football league, NLO1, Nationwide League, have wielded the big stick on Campos FC, Owerri, in the aftermath of the ugly scenes that overshadowed their playoff tie against St Nwadinso, Oba, near Onitsha, Anambra State, on Sunday.

The organisers suspended some players and officials of the club after they were alleged to have assaulted the match official that handled the match in question which ended 2-2.

In a summary jurisdiction rolled out Sunday evening, the NLO Secretariat said it took the decision after going through the match officials reports.

"The Nationwide League One Secretariat received a report of assault on match officials by players and officials of Campos FC Imo State in their match played against St Nwadinso Imo State", the summary jurisdiction reads.

"It was reported by the match officials that seven players and three officials of Campos FC assaulted the center referee after the match causing injury to the referee and other officials of Imo State Football Association.

"The most disturbing aspect was the involvement of the CEO and Team Manager of Campos FC.

"Video evidence shows how the CEO and TM. of Campos FC invaded the pitch during the match.

"The NLO rules and regulations article 4:12 (2&3) and 4:13 is sacrosanct and shall be applied.

The listed players and officials are hereby suspended indefinitely from all NLO matches, their appearance in any Campos FC match shall be met with serious sanction".

The league body listed the affected players to include:

1. Williams chimezie - Jsy. 14

2. Awulonu chidiebere. Jsy. 5

3. Eke chukwuebuka. - Jsy. 4

4. Opara malvin. - Jsy. 17

5. Ikechukwu P. Osuji. (CEO Campos FC)

6. Nurse of campos FC

7. Henry Onwuzuruike (TM campos FC.)

The match is hereby awarded to St Nwadinso FC with 3 points and 3 goals (Art. 4:12. 2&3) This decision shall be forwarded to NFF for Nationwide Ban on Football activities.

Above decision is taken in line with the rules and regulations of Nationwide League One and the club has a right to appeal.
