The Nationwide League One (NLO) has issued a final reminder to clubs and state football associations that the registration portal for the 2025 Division Two U-19 Youth League season will officially close on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:59 PM (WAT).

In a statement signed by NLO Chief Operating Officer Olushola Ogunnowo, the league management emphasized that no extensions will be granted beyond the deadline.

“Any club that fails to complete its registration by the deadline will unfortunately not be eligible to participate in the upcoming Nationwide League One Division Two U-19 (Youth League) season,” Ogunnowo warned.

The NLO urged all State Football Associations to disseminate the information promptly to their affiliated clubs, stressing the need for all player registrations, officials’ documentation, and other administrative requirements to be completed well before the cutoff date.

The 2025 Division Two U-19 Youth League is scheduled to kick off on Friday, August 8, 2025, just three days after the portal closes, leaving no room for late entries.

League officials described timely registration as “vital for the smooth planning and commencement of the season” and called for the full cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure an efficient start to the youth competition, which serves as a developmental pathway for emerging football talent across Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Nationwide League One (NLO) has called on all state football associations to submit the winners and runners-up of their respective state leagues as preparations begin for the 2025 zonal playoffs into the Nationwide League One Division Two (U-19 Youth League).

According to a circular signed by NLO’s Chief Operating Officer, Olushola Ogunnowo, the zonal playoffs are scheduled to hold across the six geopolitical zones of the country from Wednesday, September 10 to Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

The playoffs will determine which teams from the state leagues gain promotion into the Nationwide League One Division Two, further strengthening the pathway for youth football development in Nigeria.

State Football Associations have been given a deadline of July 31, 2025 to submit the names of their league winners and runners-up for the current season.

Ogunnowo emphasized the importance of timely submissions, noting that it will enable smooth planning and organization for the zonal playoffs.

“We look forward to the cooperation of all state FAs and the participation of their clubs in what promises to be an exciting new season for the Nationwide League One,” he said in the statement.

The NLO serves as a crucial platform for nurturing young talent in Nigeria, providing opportunities for players under 19 to showcase their abilities and progress through the country’s football league system.
