The Nationwide League One (NLO) has reminded all participating clubs of the mandatory requirements for the 2026 Pre-Competition Medical Assessment (PCMA) exercise, stressing that only teams that meet specific eligibility criteria will be allowed to participate in the screening.

 

The Nigerian apex regulatory body for grassroots football stated that the health and safety of players remain a top priority, hence the strict compliance measures put in place for the upcoming medical assessment.

 

According to the league body, evidence of payment is the foremost requirement. Only clubs that have fully paid their registration and participation fees for the 2026 season will be scheduled for the PCMA exercise.

 

Another key requirement is the collection of player licenses. The NLO noted that only clubs that have completed their registration process and are in physical possession of their officially issued player licenses will be eligible to participate in the medical screening.

 

The league body warned that no player will be screened without presenting a valid NLO-issued license at the point of the medical assessment.

 

Furthermore, the NLO emphasised that any club that arrives at the screening centre without fulfilling the two conditions will be turned back, noting that no exceptions will be granted. The directive, according to the league, is aimed at maintaining the integrity of its medical records and league documentation.

 

The league management also urged clubs yet to complete the process to finalise their payments and collect their licenses without delay by visiting the NLO Secretariat or their respective zonal offices to avoid being excluded from the PCMA exercise.
